Sociology

August 2009 Valedictorian

JFSB Courtyard

Douglas Wendt will receive a B.S. in Sociology this August.  He also has minors in International Development and Marriage, Family, & Human Development.

His plans following graduation include gaining "further practical work experience in NGO administration, starting in Mozambique, where [he] will conduct an impact assessment for an NGO and then later in Kenya, where [he] will set up an evaluation." Doug will then continue his education, hoping to receive an Master of Public Administration degree or a master degree in International Development, emphasizing in NGO administration and community development. His interest in non-governmental organizations was probably facilitated by his work with the Mexico Sociology study abroad program, where he assisted with HELP International and Ascend Alliance, working with his mentor, Dr. Tim Heaton.
