Meet Sociology's Valedictorian for 2026!

Alexandra Williams

Alexandra Williams, a sociology major, grew up in Fullerton, California. She is the daughter of David and Staccie Williams. After her first year at BYU, she served a mission in Belgium and the Netherlands. She then returned to BYU and to sociology. During her time here, she has worked as a teaching assistant for both an international development and a data analysis course. She is currently involved in research surrounding adolescent and young adult outcomes of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and child maltreatment. She’s passionate about research and about working with individuals. Alexandra decided that she wanted a career as a social worker in her junior year while working as an intern with the state of Utah’s Division of Child and Family Services. She will pursue a master’s degree in social work beginning this fall. She is excited to continue her education and is grateful to the mentors she’s had at BYU and to her family for their support and encouragement.
