Current Graduate Student

Hi! I’m from Provo, UT and received my Bachelor’s in Sociology from BYU in 2021. I love sociology because it helps me practice empathy and understand the perspectives and experiences of other people. Christ suffered the pains and troubles and afflictions of all people, so the compassion I get from learning and researching sociology helps me understand the Atonement better and become a better person. My focus is in family sociology. I especially love learning about family systems and life course theories. I’d love to study how gender roles and birth order affect parenting behaviors, as well as the importance of community and kinship ties on child and family outcomes.
